A Different Kind of Firm
Shannon brings decades of senior operational and executive advisory experience. Jason contributes operational precision, financial oversight, and business insight built over more than twenty years across industries. Anne provides contract management depth, legal operations expertise, and organizational infrastructure experience from some of the most complex commercial environments in the country. All three are involved. Every time.
Engagements are carried out by Sophion consultants selected based on the nature of the work and the needs of your organization. Regardless of who is in the room, the full involvement of Sophion's leadership is behind every engagement.
"Shannon and Jason have spent more than twenty years co-leading Firebrand Revivalists — the federally recognized ministry they founded and continue to operate. Over two decades, they have guided organizations through crisis, advised leaders in business and government, supported institutions navigating structural and personnel challenges, and contributed to change across communities, school systems, public agencies, and families navigating serious need. That depth of experience is what they bring into every Sophion engagement."
Sophion Media & Consulting Group
About Sophion
Sophion Media & Consulting Group is a consulting and operational advisory firm focused on organizational strategy, contract operations, business process improvement, and executive-level advisory support. We serve companies, non-profits, churches, and ministries — any organization serious about operating with excellence.
The name Sophion is derived from the Greek root sophia, meaning wisdom — and that captures exactly what we are built to deliver: principled, deeply experienced guidance that helps organizations operate at a higher level and produce outcomes that last.
We take on a limited number of engagements at any time. We commit fully to each client, and we are genuinely invested in what happens inside your organization — not just what gets delivered on paper.
When you engage Sophion, you work directly with the leadership team listed on this site. Shannon, Jason, and Anne are present in every engagement. You get their experience, their judgment, and their full attention.
We execute a mutual non-disclosure agreement before work begins because we genuinely respect what our clients share with us. Your confidential information, your internal processes, and the details of your organization stay protected. That trust is foundational to how we work.
We are selective because we commit fully to every organization we work with. If we are not the right resource for what you need, we will tell you clearly and, where we can, help you find the right direction.
Sophion's leadership brings direct experience across commercial real estate, telecommunications infrastructure, pharmaceutical contracting, railroad engineering, nonprofit governance, law, public safety, and ministry leadership. That breadth means we are drawing from a wide body of real experience to serve your specific situation.
Pricing at Sophion is not a fixed menu. It is a conversation. We are here to serve organizations — and we believe budget should not be the barrier between your organization and the help it needs. If you are working with real constraints, say so early. We will find a scope that genuinely works.
Sophion is built on a foundational conviction that the best outcomes come from wisdom, integrity, and genuine investment in the organizations we serve. We put those values at the center of every engagement as a standard of practice that guides how we listen, how we advise, and how we operate.
Core Services
Every engagement is shaped around your organization's specific needs. Sophion brings operational depth, contract expertise, and strategic clarity to organizations navigating complexity — providing exactly what you need, and nothing you don't.
Business-side contract administration and operational support across a wide range of agreement types — including NDAs, MSAs, subcontracts, leases, independent contractor agreements, purchase orders, building maintenance agreements, real estate agreements, change orders, software license agreements, IT agreements, and commercial contracts. Sophion provides document organization, drafting support, tracking, workflow coordination, and operational preparation for business negotiations. Our consultants attend meetings and work alongside your internal team and, where applicable, your licensed legal counsel — supporting the business and operational side of the process through to resolution.
Includes pre- and post-award contract tracking, performance monitoring, close-out management, contract management system design, and template development for long-term independent use. All legal interpretation, jurisdiction-specific legal analysis, and final legal approvals remain the responsibility of the client and their licensed legal counsel. Sophion does not provide legal advice and does not represent clients in any legal capacity.
Operational advisory and process support for in-house legal and compliance functions — including matter management, workflow review, department buildout planning, and cross-functional coordination. Sophion works alongside your team to advise on how legal work flows through your organization and where structure or process improvements could help. This service does not include legal advice, legal representation, or jurisdiction-specific legal guidance; those functions remain with the organization's licensed legal counsel. Where a client has in-house or outside counsel, Sophion works alongside that counsel in a support, coordination, and implementation role.
Cross-functional assessments that identify the underlying drivers of organizational challenges, with clear, strategic guidance to strengthen leadership effectiveness and overall performance. Shannon and Jason have spent over two decades helping organizations identify what is actually driving a problem — then pursuing the right outcome with discipline and integrity.
Operational review of relevant documentation, contracts, and correspondence to help organizations understand their own record and prepare for internal resolution discussions. Sophion organizes evidence, tracks timelines, identifies factual gaps, and helps develop a structured approach to internal resolution — supporting the business and operational side of dispute preparation. This service does not constitute legal advice, legal strategy, or legal representation. Any strategies intended for formal legal proceedings, litigation, or regulatory matters must be developed and approved by the client's licensed legal counsel. Sophion may coordinate directly with outside counsel at the client's direction.
Board and committee preparation, governance policy review, risk data analysis, and reporting. Policy review cycles, bylaws administration, and budget advisory. Support for nonprofits, churches, and corporate boards navigating governance structure, decision-making clarity, and organizational accountability.
Review and commentary on internal policies and procedures, including identification of gaps, inconsistencies, and risk areas. Coordinated with licensed employment or legal counsel where required for jurisdiction-specific compliance.
Assessment of existing contract management and CRM environments, including data structure, workflows, and system effectiveness. Provides recommendations for system selection, consolidation, and optimization. May include collaboration with internal IT teams or external vendors to support implementation — without assuming ongoing system administration or buildout responsibility.
Engagement Models
The ranges below reflect market benchmarks drawn from comparable consulting engagements. They are baselines, not ceilings or floors. Sophion structures every engagement individually — scope, depth, and investment are determined through direct conversation with you, built around what your organization actually needs and what makes sense within your situation.
Confidential, ongoing advisory for leadership teams navigating complex organizational challenges. Offers clarity and strategic guidance across critical decisions, informed by deep assessment of underlying organizational drivers.
Defined scope, deliverables, and timeline. Covers contract review & negotiation support, legal operations consulting, dispute analysis, board governance, policy review, and CRM systems. All figures are reference points — every project is scoped through direct conversation.
Integrated leadership-level support for organizations in transition, restructuring, or high-complexity operational periods. Scope, structure, and investment determined by engagement requirements.
Available outside of retainer or project scope for limited advisory needs. Rate varies based on scope and the nature of the advisory required.
Every engagement begins with a conversation, not a contract. If you are working within real budget constraints, say so early — we are here to serve organizations, and we will find a scope that genuinely works for your situation.
Our Executive Team
Every engagement is led by Sophion's leadership. You do not get a junior associate. You get the people below, directly involved in your outcomes.
Shannon serves as the senior strategic authority across all client engagements. She also serves as President and CEO of Firebrand Revivalists, a federally recognized 508(c)(1)(a) nonprofit ministry she has led for over fifteen years.
Before founding Sophion, Shannon built a distinguished career in property management and leasing in the Indianapolis market — ultimately leading operations for a $400 million Class A asset, overseeing leasing, maintenance, contracting, vendor relationships, and security functions across large and diverse teams. In that capacity, she managed multi-million dollar contract portfolios, oversaw vendor procurement and agreement execution, and held direct accountability for operational budgets and revenue performance.
Shannon has extensive experience negotiating and administering complex commercial contracts across multiple industries, resolving disputes through structured internal processes, and closing accounts receivable in excess of $4.5 million. She has worked alongside organizations navigating high-stakes contracting environments — preparing them operationally, coordinating documentation, and supporting business-side resolution from start to close.
Beyond contracts and operations, Shannon has spent over two decades working alongside leaders in business, government, education, and public safety — advising through sensitive organizational decisions, supporting institutions navigating leadership transitions, and helping organizations surface issues carrying legal, financial, or reputational exposure before they become critical.
Shannon founded Sophion on a model she has applied throughout her career: that the best outcomes come when strategy is formed with wisdom, executed with operational discipline, and delivered with genuine accountability to the client and to the work.
Jason is Co-Founder and Vice President of Sophion and an ordained pastor, bringing over twenty years of leadership experience across complex operational, technical, and business environments. He also serves as Vice President of Firebrand Revivalists.
His professional background spans communications infrastructure, systems engineering, fiber optic design, headend and hub operations, multi-state team leadership, and business ownership. He holds deep experience in project auditing, budget oversight, procurement, and operational accountability across large-scale technical environments. He began supervising at nineteen in a corrections setting — developing under pressure the foundation of composure, sound judgment, and institutional accountability that defines his leadership today.
As a business owner, Jason has direct experience navigating vendor relationships, operational contracting, financial oversight, and the practical realities of building and sustaining an organization. He understands what it takes to run something — not from theory, but from having done it across industries and leadership environments that demanded real accountability.
At Sophion, Jason oversees the firm's financial operations and plays a central role in strategic direction. He has a consistent ability to identify the underlying issues driving outcomes beneath the surface — the kind that are frequently misdiagnosed or overlooked entirely — and brings the clarity that allows the right decision to be made at the right time.
Anne leads operational execution across the firm and serves in a senior leadership role across internal operations, client delivery, contract strategy, and organizational implementation.
She brings over a decade of progressively senior experience in contract management, legal operations, compliance coordination, and organizational strategy across pharmaceutical, railroad engineering, construction, real estate, and nonprofit governance. Her background includes roles with Axiom, Johnson & Johnson, Holland L.P., and Firebrand Revivalists.
Anne serves as a Board Member and Operations Committee Member for Choices Coordinated Care Solutions, a national nonprofit. She has held leadership roles with the League of Railway Women, including Membership Chair, Finance Committee Member, and Parliamentarian.
Anne earned her Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law and holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Social Work and Psychology.
Engagement Process
Submit your inquiry using the form on this page with a brief overview of your organization and what you are looking to address. We review every inquiry carefully and respond honestly — if we are not the right fit for what you need, we will tell you that directly, and where we can, point you in a better direction.
A complimentary one-hour session with Sophion leadership. We listen carefully, ask the right questions, and give you an honest assessment of what your organization needs and how we can help.
Shannon, Jason, and Anne collectively assess your organization — identifying root causes, evaluating what approach makes the most sense for your specific situation, and scoping the engagement honestly around what you actually need.
Before work begins, we execute a mutual consulting agreement and a mutual non-disclosure agreement. We do this because we respect our clients — their confidentiality, their proprietary information, and the trust they place in us. This protects both parties and establishes a clear, accountable foundation for everything that follows.
Sophion consultants execute the agreed scope with precision and accountability. Shannon and Jason provide ongoing strategic input throughout every engagement.
A structured review at close — assessing outcomes against objectives, measuring what your organization now has that it did not before, and determining the best path forward.
Working with Sophion
Sophion consultants use their own devices and communication channels for standard engagement activities — calls, email, and document collaboration through shared platforms. No special setup is required from the client for day-to-day work.
For engagements requiring access to client systems, internal platforms, VPN environments, or domain-integrated infrastructure, the client is responsible for provisioning appropriate access prior to onboarding. Sophion does not assume responsibility for the security configuration or compliance posture of client-managed systems.
Sophion provides advisory services only. Unless specifically agreed in writing, Sophion does not assume responsibility for the security, configuration, or performance of client systems or environments. Any recommendations are provided within the scope of the engagement, and implementation remains the responsibility of the client.
Where an engagement requires in-person attendance — including strategic sessions, negotiations, board meetings, or on-site activities — associated travel, lodging, and related expenses are the responsibility of the client. Anticipated travel costs are requested in advance, with itemized receipts provided upon completion.
